Here are more FAQs answered.

-South Africa-

- The population is near 54 million

- The country has 11 official languages, including English, Afrikaans, and Xhosa

- SA has a white population of around 5 million.

- 2 million of the white population is an endangered people group known as an Afrikaner.

- South Africa received their freedom from Britain in 1910 and is a self governing republic.

- Apartheid ended in 1994 and Nelson Mandela was the first black to win an election in South Africa.

-Pretoria is the capital and Johannesburg is the largest city, Johannesburg is also known as the crime capital of the world.

- The nations most popular sport is rugby and the are consistently one of the best in the world.

- Close to 13% of all black south africans have HIV/AIDS and there are nearly 3.5 million orphans.

You can see there is a great need for the Gospel. Not only in SA but all over the World there are nations with even worse statistics than this one. Do you consistently tell the Gospel? God commands all saved men and women to give the Gospel not just missionaries. Pray for laborers for South Africa.

South Africa Bio Pt. 1

When I talk to people about South Africa I get many questions. They range from what does a missionary do, to questions about the country itself. In the next few updates I want to give a brief description about the continent of Africa, the country of South Africa, as well as Port Elizabeth (P.E.), the city in which we will be training.

-Africa -

 - The population is 1.1 Billion and accounts for %14 of the entire worlds population.

- The largest country is Algeria with 39 Million people, who are 99% muslim.

- The largest religion in Africa is Islam, with Christianity being the second largest.

- The most widely spoken language is Arabic, followed by English.

- Africa has the Worlds longest river (Nile) as well as the largest desert (Sahara)

- Almost 40% of all adults in Africa are illiterate.

- 25 Million people are HIV-positive.

- Around 90% of all cases of Malaria occur in Africa.

- Nearly 51% of the African population is Muslim.

As you can see Africa is in great need of the Gospel. The continent is in need of prayer.

With Islam being so prevalent in North Africa, and poverty even more prevalent in middle and west Africa, it makes Southern Africa so interesting and different.

Will you pray for Africa?
