Port Elizabeth is the city in which we will train for 6 months starting this July. Here are some more facts and information about the area we will be in.

-Port Elizabeth-

The population is over 775,000 people

Because of the high white population the most widely spoken language is Afrikaans. English is the second most widely spoken language and Xhosa, the language will we learn, is the most widely spoken tidal language.

Commonly known as PE, The Bay or the Windy City.

The city was given a large amount of money in 2008 and 2009 to upgrade the looks of it before the 2010 World Cup. A new soccer stadium was built and the waterfront area was refurbished.

Nearly 70% of all PE residents live in townships, including Zwide, KwaZahele, Motherwell and New Brighton.

The entire eastern cape,  where PE is located,  boasts about the "Big Seven" . It consists of the elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, and water buffalo. Everywhere you go to buy souvenirs you can see it in the art and entire culture of PE.

PE also has many tourist attractions including lion parks and safari adventures where you can see many of the animals listed above.
